THE "BRÜCKENWIRT"
The "Gasthof zur Brücke", which the locals simply call "Brückenwirt" is idyllically situated in the old town of Kaufering, right next to the bridge crossing the Lech. It is surrounded by a meadow with fruit trees, a playground and - very typically for Bavaria - a beer garden under the chestnut tree.
In the foothills of the Bavarian Alps with its mountains, lakes and rivers, located directly on the Romantic Road, the ideal stop for cyclists, hikers and travellers as well as business guests. Run in the 3rd generation, you can feel the family spirit in the entire house as well as in each dish prepared by professional chefs in the kitchen.

THE GOOD OLD DAYS
Since 1918, now already in third generation, the "Gasthof zur Brücke" is run by Family Fischer.
The good old times has been actually a tough one, since the situation right after the First World War was very difficult. In these times the family learned the importance of cohesion and down-to-earth-attitude. Virtues that are still upheld today.

THE OWNERS
HERBERT
The current owner took over the business from his mother Maximiliana in 1992. The trained butcher and chef spent over 25 years in the kitchen himself and has now handed over this area to the 4th generation. He puts his heart & soul into looking after the personal well-being of all our guests.
CHRISTIAN
His son Christian has returned to his parents' business after years of training and travelling in kitchens all around the world and has taken over the kitchen. He brings a modern influence into the house. As junior- and head chef, he is the creative head of the team. The chef and his team serve both classic dishes and modern interpretations of regional and seasonal products.
ANDREAS
After 12 years abroad, both near and far, Andreas has returned home and is dedicated to the well-being of our guests. Together with the service team, he puts a smile on the faces of all our guests and looks forward to giving you an unforgettable experience at the Brückenwirt.

The journey is the reward, says the hiker.
But a fresh beer and a tasty snack aren´t bad either. Sitting in the shade of the old chestnut trees right next to the little stream, letting the Lord God be a good man, meeting nice people and having good conversations - that´s what life is all about. The children are playing in the playground within sight. A reassuring feeling! So you can linger for a while in the idyllic beer garden.
